His Word, which is living (Hebrews 4:12) serves as food for the souls of the children of God. Just as a newly born baby hungers for mother’s milk, those who are born again as children of God (through faith in His Son Jesus Christ and the subsequent gracious and redemptive provision) also hunger for pure milk of the Word of God for nourishment and growth. (John 1:9-14, 1 Peter 2:1-3).
Understanding of His Word: Just how a child understands his or her mother’s tongue, anyone who is born again in truth and in spirit as a child of God not only can see the kingdom of God (John 3:3) but are able to understand His Word that the Lord reveals Himself to them individually and personally. No special intellect is needed for the Lord says that the kingdom of God belongs to those who come to Him with the heart of a child. It is the gift of His Spirit that we receive through faith and not our natural intellect that gives us the understanding. Understanding every aspect of our being more and more deeply. He imparts His wisdom thereafter through the Gift of His Holy Spirit to dwell in those who believe in His only begotten Son Jesus Christ when they hear the gospel and allow the Lord to reconcile him or her unto Himself through His Son, the only Lord of reconciliation.
1 Corinthians 2:4-5,12-16 - The Lord is clear about sharing His heavenly riches and wisdom as inheritance through the Gift of His eternal life, as His Spirit with those who believe and receive Christ as their personal Savior and Lord of their lives. Those who reconcile to the Lord belong to Him. Those who belong to Him understand. Those who increase in understanding are empowered by the Lord to share and boast in Him alone.
