The Word of God is gracious and living. It is crucial to understand what God’s grace truly is and means especially when we use this word “grace” apart from its reference to the Lord in this world so casually.
Grace of God: If put simply, the grace of God is something that the Lord gives us which we do not deserve, although it is crucial and inevitable for our vitality. That “something” is His very own eternal life which brings our spiritually dead state into potential fullness of His Life. God’s gracious gifts are His heavenly treasures which are His, they cannot be created in our being but which the good Lord is willing to share in its potential fullness for our good.
Word of God is living, the only living Word: The Word is indestructible, enduring, everlasting and God-breathed.
The Word, just like the very nature of God has neither beginning nor end. John 1:1-3 clearly tells us that the Word was God and everything that we see around us came to being through the utterance of His Word. The same Word became flesh (John 1:14) to dwell among us as the only begotten Son of God. The same Word is implanted as the eternal seed in those who choose to receive His Word, i.e., Lord Jesus Christ , through faith in His Lordship and acceptance of His death and resurrection for personal redemption through confession. The Word then is nothing but the resurrected Life of Christ to reconcile us to God through Him. (1 Peter 1:23-25).
The Word of God, which is thus living, is also infinite, like the infinite and absolute attributes of the Lord Himself. The more the seed is fed with the living Word, the more it sprouts, grows, is established and is fruitful. Just how food is for the living, Word that imparts to us eternal life also continues to nourish us with His own Self once we receive His life. (1 Peter 2:1-3)
Word of God - is the saving grace of God (“For faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ”- Romans 10:17
All Scripture in the Bible is God-breathed. His Word is the Lord’s open declaration of His insurmountable love and provision for all mankind. His Word is His conversation with His children. His Word is the revelation of His very nature, plans and purposes for each of us, all of which are of eternal value. It is not a list of “do’s” and “don’ts” as such, neither is a list of His Laws for us to abide by. His Word is a revelation of His absolute righteousness in our being as we walk through life with Him on a daily basis.
His Word reveals to us that He is living and He desires for each of us to find real joy in walking with Him.
